ANGLE VALE PRIMARY DRESS CODE

Acting upon a general desire within the school community, Governing Council decided to introduce a compulsory Uniform Policy at Angle Vale Primary School at the start of the 1997 school year. We believe that such action will help build and maintain a strong school identity and cohesiveness. We believe that the wearing of a school uniform is: practical and functional, cost effective and non-competitive, safer, especially on excursions, promotes student pride in the school and their own appearance and helps build and maintain school spirit and a sense of identity.

We have a uniform policy in place at Angle Vale Primary. Our school colours consist of  Black and Gold.

We have a limited stock of uniform items available at the school which include:

* Sort and Long Sleeve Polo Shirts (with collar) * Slouch and legionnaire hats * Summer Dress * Boys Cargo Shorts * Boys Cargo Pants

These items can also be purchased out side the school from various stores. All uniform items need to be in the school colours (black and gold). We also have  "iron-on" logos available.

Each year the year 7 students have the option of purchasing a Commemorative Windcheater (not available to other students). The students are able to select what design they want on their windcheater.

DRESS CODE ~ Yellow and Black

Tops   ~ Polo shirts (with collar for added sun protection) with or without school logo (logos available from front office)

           ~ Windcheater (with or without logo), skivvies, rugby top, jumper or cardigan

(T-shirts, Angle Vale Football Club tops, logos and brand names on tops other than the school logo are not acceptable)

Jacket ~ School Uniform Parachute Jacket (Yellow & Gold)

Jackets either yellow or black with no brand names, pictures other than school logo. Pedal Prix jacket is acceptable and the Angle Vale Football club jacket with badge logo only.

Bottom  ~ All yellow or black (not in combination)

Shorts, track pants, trousers, leggings, bootleg pants, black jeans (not faded), skorts, skirt, stirrup pants or bike pants

(Logos or brand names larger than a 50c are not acceptable)

Girls ~  in addition to the above additions.

 Summer dress in check material.

Year 7 Students ~ In addition to the above uniform

Year 7 students have an option of ordering a Commemorative Windcheater in Term 4, in preparation for the following year.

Footwear  ~ Foot wear should be appropriate to the occasion

Lace up shoes or sneakers with socks, or sandals that support, cover and protect the foot.

(No platforms, high heels, strappy sandals, thongs or other inappropriate footwear)

(no coloured / patterned socks/toe socks other than school colours unless under long trousers)

Hats ~  Legionnaire hat or Wide Brimmed hat (yellow or black).

Hats are compulsory from 1st September to May 31st

Children are encouraged to wear a hat (as above) outside these times for their own protection.

(Baseball caps or non uniform types of hats are not permitted to be worn at any time)

Sports Uniform ~ Black shorts, skorts or sports skirt and yellow polo shirt, with the specified hat above.

Hair ~ natural hair colours only. Light streaks acceptable.

Jewelry ~ Earrings - studs, sleepers, small hoops only, due to safety issues

(No bulky necklaces, bracelets or bangles)

Make Up ~ Not to be worn.

Nails ~ Clear natural nail polish only

Nails to be groomed to a safe, practical length (to the finger tips)

Accessories ~ All clothing such as scarves or belts, that are worn during school hours, must be in school colours. Long scarves are not to be worn ion the play equipment due to safety concerns.

Casual Days ~ Dress code (collars, hats, make up etc) applies, school colours excepted. No tank tops, low necklines or clothing exposing the mid-riff

Availability of Uniform

Examples of school uniforms are on display in the school’s front foyer. Uniform Order Forms are available from the front office.  A selection of school uniforms (polo tops, jackets, hats and windcheaters) is available for immediate purchase from the School’s Uniform Shop. If items are not in stock, an order will be place at the earliest possible convenience, as we need a specific number of orders.
